This blog is a haven for practical, realistic, sharp-witted girls who have grown weary of unicorn-riding, rainbow-kissing, "babydust"-spewing nitwits.
In Feb of 2010, the girls were attacked by a vicious monster, wielding the powerful Club of Censorship. Their collective strength could not be denied and they soon reconvened...with a wit more biting, a resolve more steadfast, and a powerful weapon of their own: Freedom of Speech!
Welcome to OUR shiny, new blog.
Newbies Welcome!
i think most do 2 to make sure you have an appropriate rise in your number (b/c if you didn't it could be an ectopic). But you can have an ectopic with normal rise in beta, ala Jes. So when it comes down to it, I think the ultrasound's the only thing that really matters.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think the norm is two to monitor the doubling. I had two and my RE said I was good until the u/s...I asked for a third....I'm a little paranoid though!
ReplyDelete2 seems to be the norm, my friend just got her first beta (221) and they're having her come back in two days. maybe you can ask them for one? it seems like a reasonable request.

ReplyDeleteI'd ask for one, even if you have to pay for it. Peace of mind is priceless. A crazy high spike can mean ectopic, too (or multiples). My betas doubled normally.
ReplyDeleteWhen is your u/s scheduled for? I'm with everyone else, I say you ask for a 2nd beta. Maybe you don't need it but if you want it you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteFirst U/S is the 17th, a week from tomorrow.
