Progesterone question? (ooohhh, bbchi?)
So...they did bloodwork after my u/s yesterday and my progesterone was 32. It was 31.8 the day of my 2nd beta. They told me I can stop the PIO shots and go to prometrium suppositories, but now im kinda scared that it will drop while im producing it on my own. Is this a ridiculous way to think?

I don't know the right answer and I think there's a little voodoo involved. I know my RE said she does the shots till you see a heartbeat and then the suppositories thereafter. Your placenta (can you believe you will have a placenta? so exciting!) starts working around 8-10 wks making the progesterone. So if your pregnancy is normal, which it sounds like it is, your body will not fail. Don't worry those suppositories are getting the progesterone right where it needs to go. They only need your progesterone to be 15 or greater so you're doing awesome. If you want to keep doing those horrible butt shots...I suppose you could and not tell anyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks sooo much! Hell to the no on the butt shots. I just wanna make sure im doing the right thing. Theres that fear that never goes away :) Im not sure when or where, but I read about someone with a progesterone level of around 70, so it just makes my measly little 30 sound subpar. Im gonna trust the nasty suppositories though!
