Can anyone tell me how long Pregnyl lasts in your system? We call it Pregnyl in Aus but I know you guys use a different name. Its the one that you trigger with and then have booster shots of post ET?
When can you do a HPT reliably after an injection?

Last dose was 1500 units @ 2000 on Monday night.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had an answer for you. I can't believe how strong you are being - I'm already trying to figure out when I can take a test and it's only been 3 days for me. The wait is excruciating!

This may give a false positive on a pregnancy test. Some trace amounts of hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) can remain in the body as long as 14 days or longer after the last hCG injection. Thus, even after 10 days, there are still several hundred units of hormone available be excreted into the urine and to give a false-positive home pregnancy test.

Approximately one half of drug is removed each 28 hours and so for accurate results you should wait at least 12 days and preferably 14 days from an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) injection to be confident that a qualitative test is giving a reliable answer. If you test too soon after an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) shot, you might get a false positive. Most doctors recommend that you wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection."
Got that off the interent somewhere. Somewhere else said 10days for 100000unit inj. But if you're doing booster shots, that's even harder. You may not even be able to do it for a week after? Or maybe this weekend? When's your beta?

Anyone know how long 180IU lasts (.18mL)? Can a dose this low (12 shots over about 12 days) be enough for a false pos.? Was taking some to boost fertility, friends had it for hcg diet, I'm now over 3 weeks late, have had 3 pos tests? Dr. on transvaginal sonogram saw a thing that is either a blood clot or 3 week embryo (said uterine lining was thin, so probably not upcoming period), hard to see much, it's so early. Have nausea, exhaustion so badly cannot get out of bed (have an 11 year old also) Gave my male partner one shot of 180IU, his preg test was negative (very amusing scene). Is this a real preg, thoughts?

Did I mention I'm living in 3rd world country where the rainbow-riding nitwits could qualify as brain surgeons and nurses have 5th grade educations and take a two-month course in (apparently) lying and screwing up everything they touch with their filthy, ungloved, chipped nail polish, bacteria-breeding hands? Why would I have a clot anyway, why can't the Dr. just tell me if it's a blastocyst/embryo or not? Blood clot should be linked with upcoming period, which my uterine lining does not suggest is a possibility. What 5mm thing is vacationing in my uterus? If it's not an embryo I would like it to seek alternate accommodations. My blood-work (supposed to be ready at 5 yesterday) remains not ready. I'm just waiting for it to come back and tell me I'm an 95 year old male with prostate cancer, rrr. (I also posted the 180 IU piece above), please advise.

After my 10000ui Pregnyl shot, i always clear neg HPT after 1 week from collection.
ReplyDeleteI've been taking booster 1500ui Pregnyl on eventings on D3, D6 and D9.
I did a baseline test on mornings of D4, D5 and D6. All showed very faint pos line (when there was no way this early the D3 embryo could have implanted yet and given genuine pos result).
I'm now D12, blood test in two days. HPT this morn gave pos result bit line was as faint as my baseline test, i have no unexpected preg symptoms + AF cramping, moodiness and cravings have started. So fairly certain not pregnant.
Point is, when taking booster shots my experiance is there is no way to definitively know if its a genuine positive HPT so I'm not going to bother next time.
