Ok KB I'm here. Not sure if I'm doing this right either I'm over with K's google group as well. Who else is here that got banned. How long was the ban and do you know why or have any thoughts why?

ReplyDeleteI feel like I can breathe again. You girls are such an important part of my world, now...I don't think I knew how important until the ban.
As far as I can tell, I was banned until August 2, 2010...I was given no warning. I emailed to express my displeasure at being banned with no warning and to ask that D@ve (yep, it's a curse word now) reconsider. I've received no response. I'm a bit confused as to why I was banned. I don't think I said anything that wasn't tongue-in-cheek and pretty mild.
Ok so at least I now know how to respond here and that it works. YAY

It seems everyone is doing longer than 2 day transfers. I think I am the only one doing 2dt. I will add this to the list of whys?? when I next visit with our RE. He did say previously that their opinion is better inside me than outside however it seems you ladies are having results with longer than 2dt. Plus longer times seem to give info re if its a sperm issue.

ReplyDeleteSummerdays...welcome welcome welcome! I/we missed you so. Thanks on the congrats. I had always thought if I got a positive that I would disappear from FT. I didn't want to make people feel bad with my happy (so far) ending. But when I got that ban last night, it knocked the wind out of me...and as selfish as it might be, I don't think I can disappear. I care so much about your stories and lives...I just have to stay connected!
ReplyDeleteHolmes, we are ok with twins. (Although as it seems more real to us...it's pretty scary.) Anything more than 3, we decided a long time ago to selectively reduce. The dangers/risks are too great, for us. I used to be sort of waffle-y on triplets, but my husband (a resident physician), my doctor, and the embryologist were all highly NOT in favor of carrying more than 2...and since I didn't have a strong opinion on 3, I am more than happy to defer to the people in my life with more knowledge than me.

My opinion on multiples is the more the better... Octomom you ain't got sh!t on me!!! Nah seriously that is my heart not my head speaking. I know the risks blah blah blah but I would be like a dog with two dicks if we had twins.

Summer, I just tried to PM you on FT and you ARE gone :) So you must've gotten booted too! Haha. Anyway, we ARE going to freeze extra embies now. I was talking to my parents and they offered to pay for it. I was soooo worried, but we just can't afford it right now. I hate to be the one who depends on her parents, but this is a little bigger than that. So I'm feeling good about having 9! When you went through your fresh IVF cycles, how many made it from fertilization-day 3 (or 5 if you waited)? I'm praying they'll all come through!

ReplyDeleteIf you have a Google Account (Gmail, or otherwise) you should select that option and it will just have sign in with that information. I'm completely new to the blog thing...and already had a Gmail acct, so that's how I did it...I'm not sure about the other options. Setting up a Gmail acct is easy, I even did a new one just for this blog. Can't wait til you sign up...then I can add you as an author! :D

OK for those that don't know I use the option name/url from the comment as list because it'll do a pop up screen having you put in a name and a url I just fill out the name part and then that shows above my post. Sometimes it'll screw up and not post but I just click post comment again and it goes through no trouble so for those wondering go ahead and try it. I have no clue how to edit this blog (or to work a blog for that fact) so KB we need to change barren to found. For those that don't know we also all have an email thing going kinda like confessions right now its more bitching then anything. Just search google groups for who shot my stork? If it doesn't work let me know I'll find a way to link the post over here. It sends email updates when people respond to it we are all kind of between the 2 ways right now.

I read your post on the old JJJA board thats still around and we didn't move over because of censorship most of us got banned lol so we had to find a way to find everyone. KB was banned so started this blog so if someone googled confessions hopefully they would find her and get back in contact. Desperate times and measures to find each other but most of us are back just have a few more. And we just brought deanandkrissy to the dark side now shes not gonna know what to do with herself with everyone gone.

Well I too have been banned from FT, which I sent a pretty curt email to them tonight asking specifically which post violeted their Community Guidelines. As I did not "personally attack another user, moderator or employees of Fertile Thoughts" and all I mentioned was that there were some ladies getting tired of the censorship who created their own blog, he really has no reason to be doing this.

ReplyDeleteGood going on freezing the embryos. How many fresh embryos are you transferring? We are only allowed to do one in Aus, then only 2 if frozen. All my embryos were 2 days. Our clinic takes the opinion better to be in me than out. However I have a lot of questions to ask the RE about this when we see him next. Manly from everyone elses situations on here. The more you learn the more questions you have.
I am really impressed your parents offered to pay for freezing. That is really kind of them. Its not like you are asking for them to pay for a shiny new pink convertable car!! Plus this will be the gift that keeps on giving!!
I am now 4dp2dt. I feel like it is more like 4 months. I have the week off work and I have been doing nothing other than completely resting (ie eating and watching TV!). No symptoms at all. Not on progesterone as RE said my levels were good last cycle so no need. However that is something I will really question when I see him next. Few twinges but then that could be gas??? No spotting. No sore boobs. Nada......
Start new job in ICU on Mon. Shitting myself. Really should be going over all my uni stuff and study stuff instead of our blogs however this is more fun and helps me mentally!

ReplyDeleteWe transferred 4. (0_0) It's what the embryologist recommended, considering we transferred 2 last time and I was a high prognosis...and that cycle was a failure. Only one of the four was "good"...two were ok, and one was a slow developer that we were thinking of letting go another day to see if it would catch up to freeze. So...we ultimately decided to throw that one in too. And it worked...color us shocked! We just hope there's only one or two in there now, cuz three or more, we start reading up on selective reduction.

Pardon me for crashing, but a friend just told me about this site. I was a member of FT until about a year ago, when my friends and I had our group shut down and we were kicked off. I do not miss it. At all. But it is amazing the friends you make, the bonds that cannot be broken. Just to let you know, there is also a way to make secret groups on FB, where you can meet by invitation only, and cannot be searched. You can have your message boards and anyone can be an officer.
