Today Show - Baby Bump Bound

Just in case you missed it...or had no means to record it:

Baby Bump Bound's IF Segment on the Today Show

  1. I loved your interview, BBB...so proud to have you out there as an ambassador and representative of the IF community.

I have to say, when the host replied to the 65% eventually get pregnant statistic with, "Those are pretty good numbers,"...I couldn't help but feel completely frustration on behalf of the 35% that are left with nothing but debt and disillusionment.

Thirty-five percent is a huge number...let's talk about those women/couples, that's a lot of people, over a third, for whom IVF is *not* working. I know it's easier to focus on the 65%, but the 35% are still out there...in emotional agony.

  2. That was an amazing interview, very emotional and right to the point. I loved every minute of it!!

KB-I agree, 35% is a huge number. It makes me sad to think about those statistics!!

  3. BBB, I too got a bit teary from it. Luckily it is lunchtime and nobody is around. It just strikes home. Thought you were great! I'm so impressed that you were willing to share all that we feel and all that we've done. Didn't you say you were working on a documentary? I was bummed that they didn't mention it.

I agree with KB. 35% is huge and there was no discussion of how those cope.

I also liked the woman from Cornell. Wish she was at my clinic.

  7. Awesome job. I got a little misty too. I forget which part did it. I know Megan was trying to be sensitive w/her announcement but i couldn't help but think...REALLY? You're going to do that now? This is a baby step in the right direction of getting the word out ast to what we've all been through. Now we just need an hour on Oprah. Time's running out!!

  8. bbchi, I am determined to get on Oprah... and I am taking all of you with me!! Megan actually called me to let me know that she was announcing her pregnancy on live TV. She's been through the shitter too. She's lost too many pregnancies to count and just last summer she was 16 or so weeks along when she lost another pregnancy. I am happy for her, but ya, it was a blow, I'm not gonna lie.

  9. BBB - The segment was amazing. Thank you for sharing so much of your struggle. I agree, it's too bad Megan announced she was pregnant. It was too much of a happy ending.

  10. OMG!!! i LOVE oprah : ) pick me! pick me!
I havent gotten to watch yet, because I left the house at 6 am and now were out of town until saturday night....BUT i threw a hissy fit because I didnt have time to watch it before we left! So proud of you for speaking up though and I cant wait to see it.

btw-35% is HUGE. Would you pay $20000 for a lottery ticket if you knew you only had a 65% chance of winning? I wouldnt!

  11. Wow, Jess. That was amazing. I cried like a baby while I watched it, because everything you said is SO TRUE. I am so proud of you! I can't even put into words how happy I am that our story is out there.
    I'll definitely go on Oprah!

I agree with the thoughts on the 35%. I was a bit annoyed by her comment that those were great numbers, too. Once again, we can't blame fertiles for their comments. They just don't understand. But I can't help but believe I am one of the 65%.

BTW- Megan's announcement of her pregnancy was very classy. I'm still jealous, but she was so tactful.

  12. Jess, that was wonderful! You did such a great job. You captured everything so perfectly. And you and DH are gorgeous.

Can I go on Oprah with you? I bet she would bellow, "InnnnnFER-TILLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!!!!" and make us start Gratitude Diaries with unicorns on the cover.

And I agree, 65% does not sound like a "great number."

  14. LAP... Hilarious!!! InnnnnFER-TILLLLLLLLLLLE can be our battle cry as we mount (no pun) the unicorns and ride off to war with Joan, our pig-tails and peti-coats flapping in the wind.

  15. I bet Oprah would buy everyone a unicorn. "Everyone look under your seats!! We have a surprise for you!!!"
